Giles brings 35+ years of C-suite experience as former Group COO & Deputy Group CEO of Robert Walters Plc. He quickly got recognised as a leading individual in his industry and went to participate in the early days in Robert Walters.

 

With continued responsibility for the entire day to day activities of the group, Giles conducted significant cross border acquisitions (APAC, EMEA and Americas) and co-scaled the group from one office to 4,000+ global staff in 61 offices across 30 countries. Under his guidance, Robert Walters Plc grew to become a FTSE250 listed company with £1,23Billion+ turnover and £470Million+ Market Capitalisation.

 

Giles played a central role in the initial flotation in 1996 on the London Stock Exchange, during the strategic sale to a US based Private Equity group in 1998 and in the second flotation on the LSE in 2000. Giles retired in 2019 and currently sits on the board of several companies and charities.

 

He brings an unprecedented business acumen, acute corporate governance and managing skills, and we expect strong leadership and guidance coming from his wealth of experience.

Hervé brings 25+ years of C-suite experience and leadership through a variety of risk, control and finance roles for high profile companies. He spent his early years at Deloitte (Senior Manager Capital Markets), Merrill Lynch (Director Corporate Finance) and Moody’s (Head of Global Risk Management Specialists Group).

 

In 2007, he joined ICAP Plc (Global FTSE250 listed broker) as Group Chief Risk Officer, where he built and managed a global risk team of 35 people across 4 continents and created a robust enterprise risk management framework. He restructured the risk identification model for the whole group operations and reinforced the control policies, reducing operational and liquidity risk. Hervé personally led and improved the relationships with the main regulators, rating agencies and funding banks.

 

In 2012, he joined the London Stock Exchange Group as Global Head of Internal Audit. He re-engineered the group internal audit function to make it best in class for this global FTSE100 company with regulated critical infrastructure subsidiaries. He created and led a global internal audit function with 15 resources in London, New York and Milan and personally managed the relationships with the Big 4.

Darren brings 25+ years of C-suite experience on the Operations & Compliance side, with an emphasis on regulation and Anti-Money Laundering considerations in both UCITS and AIM vehicles.

 

After a first career at Deutsche Bank, where he sat on the Investment Banking Operations Committee, Darren became COO of Albemarle Asset Management and notably doubled the fund AuM to US$ 400Million.

 

He then became COO and CEO of Carrousel Capital Limited, a London-based hedge fund running arbitrage and systematic macro strategies. He successfully transformed the entity into a Family Office after redeeming all external investors.

 

He was then recruited by the largest fund manager in China (US$ 170+ Billion AuM) as Compliance & Operations Director, serving on the main board with the Group CEO and Group COO. He launched and led their European Head Quarters in London, creating the entire operational framework and compliance infrastructure.

 

Darren developed an in-depth knowledge of the industry best practice and accumulated invaluable experience dealing with complex regulatory frameworks. He currently sits on the Board of Trustees of charities and on the Board of several companies.

Neil brings 25+ years of experience in the institutional and wholesale asset management industry, most recently as Head of Product Marketing at T Rowe Price.

 

Prior to this he was Global Head of Client Strategy at Standard Life Investments, covering all key institutional markets and consultant relationships, including responsibility for the largest 30 clients who collectively had $65bn under management. Neil also created the institutional client platform for the global top 20, M&G Real Estate manager, with responsibility for Europe and Asia. He worked at KPMG as part of the Global Investment Management Leadership Team and was co-Head of the European Hedge Fund Practise.

 

Throughout his career, Neil has held a number of Advisory Board and NED positions and has been a regular guest lecturer on the INSEAD MBA course covering asset management and is currently a Visiting Fellow at SAID Business School (Oxford University).

Wassili brings 30+ years of experience in M&A and fund management. After a first career at PwC (Audit and Corporate Finance Manager), he held different Executive and Non-Executive Director roles.

 

In 2009, he became Senior Investment Manager at a EUR 300+ Million Private Equity fund focusing on large scale renewable energy infrastructure projects in Western Europe. He was responsible for the entire acquisition process as well as negotiating and closing the deals. He also led the tax structuring department and was responsible for post-acquisition integration and reporting.

 

In 2012, he became CFO of another Infrastructure Private Equity Fund, where he developed and oversaw AIFMD approved risk management and reporting policies and procedures. He designed a hybrid financing structure leading to a unique EUR 400 million financing portfolio from banks and institutional investors. During his term, the company grew to EUR 1Bn+ AuM and he led the complex exit process to EQT Partners. Wassili successfully structured, placed and managed EUR 2 Bn+  in financing through 200+ transactions and continuously provided exceptional above market results through his career.

Executive directors

Ray is co-founder and Portfolio Manager and brings more than 6 years of experience in the industry. Before founding QLIC, Ray was partner in a fast growing emerging manager in London with EUR20Million Assets under advisory. He worked directly with the CIO to develop long/short equity strategies based on a proprietary technology, QCM®️. 


Ray has worked in several important European Financial centres (London, Paris and Monaco) and received his Double degree MSc Risk in Finance – Master in Management from EDHEC Business School in London.
